This screen print documents a series of transformations of folded paper made in preparation for the sculpture, Collapsed Structure (Kottbusser Tor). Each image of the small paper models presents a selected variation of two identical shapes in combination. The module shape is made from a single sheet that is collapsed and folded in such a way that it can accordion into a variety of three dimensional configurations. The overall effect is similar to the frames of a stop motion animation film and the simple shape multiplies into a language of open and closed figures that are strangely alive.
