A miniaturized cardboard façade of the WBS 70 Plattenbau, characterized by modular pre-cast concrete elements and low relief, is used to cut out a template for a car shaped box. The elaborate folded construction roughly aligns modular elements with automobile components: for example, window elements become like a car grill, windscreen, and sunroof. The resulting box is a strange hybrid between component parts that are built for mobility but that seem oddly fixed. Humour, elegance, and monotony all contribute to the odd presence of this idiosyncratic sculpture.
